Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH)

Bansal Institute of Research, Technology & Science (BIRTS) is committed to providing a safe, secure, and respectful environment for all students, faculty, and staff. In accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, the institute has constituted the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to address and prevent incidents of sexual harassment within the campus.

The ICC functions as a confidential and impartial body to ensure timely redressal of complaints and to promote gender sensitivity and dignity at the workplace.

Objectives of the ICC

  • To prevent sexual harassment on campus
  • To create awareness about gender equality and workplace ethics
  • To provide a transparent and time-bound grievance redressal mechanism
  • To ensure confidentiality and protection of complainants

Composition of ICC (Academic Year 2025–26)

The committee comprises representatives from faculty, non-teaching staff, and students to ensure inclusivity and fairness.

Complaint Procedure

Any student or staff member facing harassment may submit a written complaint to the ICC Chairperson or any committee member. Complaints are handled with strict confidentiality and sensitivity, and necessary action is taken as per statutory guidelines.
